About Rockbrook Summer Camp
Rockbrook is a sleepaway summer camp for girls located in the 'heart of a wooded mountain' in western North Carolina. Founded over 100 years ago in 1921, our fun summer camp continues to provide an exciting and enriching camp experience for girls and teens ages 6 – 16.
Rockbrook Camp is set among the fantastic beauty of the Appalachian mountains and enjoys numerous waterfalls and scenic overlooks within its 215-acre wooded location. Near Asheville, we are 4 miles south of the small town Brevard in the western part of North Carolina, an area well known for its national forests, rocky rivers, and mountain lakes.
The typical day at Rockbrook balances plenty of fun scheduled activities and free time for each girl to be at camp with friends. There are creative, sporty, adventurous, and equestrian things to try. There are caring staff members ready to help in every way— instructing, encouraging, guiding the community, and joining right in with the fun. There's nature everywhere, inspiring exploration and feelings of wonder. There's freedom to be a kid, to laugh, play and relax. And delicious homemade snacks and meals to keep us all going!
Camp is foremost a supportive community fueled by kindness, respect and care. Camp for kids should be both fun and formative, both challenging and rewarding. Girls thrive when encouraged to make decisions for themselves, to try new things, and to develop meaningful friendships. Camp is a place for girls to explore nature, to learn new skills, and to develop a more confident sense of self.
