About Camp Puh'Tok
Since 1942, Camp Puh'tok has offered children and families the chance to connect with nature, enjoy meaningful programs, and most importantly—have FUN! Whether you're joining us for summer camp, a school field trip, a retreat, or even a wedding, Camp Puh'tok is a place where lifelong memories are made.
Nestled in the heart of Northern Baltimore County, Maryland, Camp Puh'tok spans over 60 acres of pristine woodlands. Bordered by the scenic Gunpowder Falls River and State Park, our location offers campers and guests countless opportunities to explore and enjoy the beauty of the natural world.
With a rich history dating back to 1942, Camp Puh'tok was founded to ensure that the transformative overnight summer camp experience was accessible to all children in the Baltimore area, especially those who needed it most. Eighty years later, our mission remains largely the same: to unite youth and adults from diverse backgrounds and provide meaningful outdoor learning experiences that foster an appreciation for our natural environment, our history, and each other.
At Puh'tok, our primary focus is youth development. Our program activities and the support of our caring staff offer young people opportunities to develop vital life skills, self-worth, and environmental ethics. Specific objectives include teaching positive decision-making, teamwork, self-discipline, self-confidence, and problem-solving; encouraging an appreciation and understanding of natural resources; developing leadership abilities; and building character and responsible citizenship.
